Mary McGill Rose is a lifelong resident of the Harrells community in Sampson County. She graduated from Campbell University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration. She worked in municipal government for 31 years in the field of municipal planning and downtown development, retiring as Planning and Community Development Director and Main Street Director for the City of Clinton in August 2025. She received her Director Gold Certification from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association in 2025. She served on the North Carolina Downtown Development Association Board for 18 years, holding the positions of President, Vice President of Membership, Vice President of Education, and Regional Director. She enjoys visiting downtowns and supporting small businesses, as well as living in rural North Carolina.
