Four County EMC Provides Additional Wifi Hotspots In Duplin & Pender Counties

As the Coronavirus pandemic continues, it is vital that communities stay connected to the internet – classes have gone digital and many workers are now telecommuting.

In response, Four County Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) has created 3 WiFi hotspots in Pender and Duplin Counties:

  • Duplin Winery, 505 North Sycamore Street, Rose Hill
  • World Line Networks, 310 North Norwood Street, Wallace
  • Penderlea School, Willard

The Rose Hill and Wallace locations are public and available to anyone who is in need of broadband access. The hotspot at Penderlea School will enable students with school-issued Chrome books to access educational material while schools remain closed.

These hotspots are in addition to the 4 Wi-Fi hotspots created in March by Four County’s partnership with Pender County Schools and ATMC. Those hotspot locations are: Pender High School, Heidi Trask Senior High School, Topsail High School, and the Pender County Public Library in Burgaw.

“During this difficult time, we want to ensure broadband access is widely and easily available to members of our communities,” said Doug Krynicki, fiber business development manager. All 7 locations have a range of several hundred feet and are available seven days a week.
