Students Attend Camp on Four County EMC Scholarship
May 5th, 2010Ta'Lore Stokes of Charity Middle School participated in the Kellie Harper Basketball Camp at N.C. State University and Ja'Meon Brown of Elizabethtown Middle School participated in the Roy Williams Basketball Camp at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ta'Lore is the daughter of L'nette Stokes and Ja'Meon is the son of Stacey Regan. Both students attended the basketball camps on a scholarship from Four County Electric Membership Corporation.
Ta'Lore and Ja'Meon were selected by a panel of judges based on completion of an application that included a creative essay about the students' reason for wanting to attend camp.
“Four County Electric Membership Corporation is excited to reward our outstanding young co-op members with this wonderful opportunity to experience life on a college campus and the chance to learn from winning collegiate coaches and student athletes,” said Gay Johnson Director of Corporate Communications.
The Touchstone Energy Sports Camp Scholarship program is part of the electric cooperatives’ ongoing commitment to North Carolina communities.
Locally, Four County Electric serves over 32,000 members within Bladen, Duplin, Pender, Sampson, Columbus and Onslow counties.
