Four County EMC Will Grant More Than $19,500 To Deserving Teachers for the Bright Ideas Program's 17th Year
North Carolina’s Touchstone Energy cooperatives, including Four County EMC, allocated more than $590,000 for classroom-based projects through the Bright Ideas education grant program for the 2010-2011 school year. Four County to Sponsor Middle School Students for Basketball Camp Scholarships
Four County Electric Membership Corporation is proud to announce two basketball scholarship programs for 2009, sponsored by North Carolina’s Touchstone Energy cooperatives. Four County EMC will sponsor one rising 6-8 grade female student at the Kay Yow Basketball Camp at NC State University and one rising 6-8 eighth grade male student at the Roy Williams Basketball Camp at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. more

Four County EMC Bright Ideas Grant Program Awards Over $19,800 to Local Teachers
Four County Electric Membership Corporation granted a total of $19,860 to teachers in Bladen, Duplin, Pender and Sampson counties through the electric cooperative’s Bright Ideas program. The money will fund 24 creative teaching projects that will benefit approximately 6,000 students in 16 different schools within the Four County EMC service territory. more

FOUR COUNTY EMC'S 59TH ANNUAL MEETING PROVES SUCCESSFUL
More than 2,500 people, including 1,065 registered members, attended the Four County EMC Annual Meeting at Pender High School Gym on Monday, October 13. Each member received a large reusable bag filled with a Saturday Evening Post calendar, two compact fluorescent bulbs, and a pen as a registration gift, and was eligible for many prizes, including the grand prize, a 2000 Ford-F150 pick up truck. Members learned about cooperative business practices and changes in the electric industry, and enjoyed community fellowship and musical entertainment by The Gospel Lites. more

Four County Electric Restores all Outages Caused by Tropical Storm Hannah
BURGAW, N.C., September 6, 2008, 5:15 p.m. — Four County Electric Membership Corporation restored power to all 9,828 customers with outages caused by Tropical Storm Hannah with the exception of approximately seven individual customers by 4:30 p.m. this afternoon. Four County crews are working and will have all remaining customers restored by 6:30 p.m. this evening. Four County EMC thanks their members for their patience and cooperation during the storm. If any further outages should arise, please report them to 1-888-368-7289. more

Four County Electric Hybrid Converted to a Plug-In
On October 24, Four County converted a Toyota Prius into a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). The conversion was completed by Hymotion, the conversion module manufacturer, and Advanced Vehicle Research Center, an automotive research and development company in Raleigh. more
