Community Service

The following is a list of community activities Four County EMC takes part in each year:

  • Bright Ideas program for local K-12 teachers
  • Each year Four County EMC sponsors high school rising seniors on the weeklong Rural Electric Youth Tour tour of Washington, D.C. with approximately 1500 other students from across nation
  • Cooperative Leadership Camp - annually sponsor high school rising seniors to a week at Cooperative Camp in White Lake, N.C.
  • Operation Round Up
  • Touchstone Energy Basketball Camp Scholarships. The Kay Yow Basketball Camp and the Roy Williams Basketball Camp programs allow one 6th-8th grade female and one 6th-8th grade male to attend a week-long basketball camp.
  • Partnership with NC's Amber Alert Program to help locate missing children across the state.
  • "Get Charged! Electricity and You!" Four County EMC Donated a "Get Charged!" kit to every middle school in the Cooperative's service area to help educate our students about electricity.
  • Dixie Youth sponsor
  • Yearly participation in Relay for Life and March of Dimes
  • Electric Safety Demonstrations - provide classroom demonstrations on dangers of electricity
